Coin Information:

On 12th October 2023, UK coinage entered a new era as all eight definitive coins - from the 1p to the £2 - were completely redesigned, marking the first change of monarch in 70 years. For the first time, the portrait of King Charles III appeared across the nation’s coins, alongside a full set of new reverse designs. Among the most distinctive of these is the £1 coin, featuring a beautifully detailed pair of bees set against a pattern of interlocking ‘C’s - a subtle nod to King Charles III and a celebration of nature. First introduced with the 2023-dated coins that entered circulation in 2024, this design quickly became one of the most recognisable of the new era. Now, in 2025, the bee £1 returns - continuing this important chapter in British coinage. A symbol of continuity, craftsmanship, and the natural world, the 2025 Bee £1 stands as a lasting tribute to this historic transition.
