In 2023, iconic characters from the original Star Wars™ trilogy featured on official UK coins for the first time. A four-coin collection was issued to celebrate 40 years since the release of Return of the Jedi. This is the first coin in the series, featuring the lovable duo R2-D2™ and C-3PO™ inside the famed Millennium Falcon. The reverse design also includes a lenticular feature which changes between Tatooine and the Rebel Alliance Starbird when tilted. The obverse features King Charles III’s portrait.
