2019 marks 100 years since Remembrance Day was conceived in Britain. Originally intended as a means of honouring the unprecedented loss of life during the First World War, the annual tradition now commemorates British and Commonwealth military personnel killed in a number of conflicts. The 2019 Remembrance UK £5 coin features a new design by artist Harry Brockway incorporating the famous line from the ‘For the Fallen’ by Laurence Binyon.
