The Royal Mint sparked great excitement with the surprising announcement of the release of 26 BRAND NEW 10p coins into circulation in 2018. Their theme is the A-Z of Britain and these are the first ever commemorative UK 10p coins. This 10p features the Loch Ness Monster with its tail wrapped around the letter ‘L’. In Scottish Folklore, the Loch Ness Monster is an aquatic being that lives in Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. 220,000 were issued in 2018 and 84,000 were issued in 2019.
