This is the Official Paralympic £5 coin issued for the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The design was chosen as part of the Royal Mint's nationwide competition open to art and design students in higher education. The winning design by Pippa Sanderson uses the round shape of the coin to include four sections; a spoked wheel for manoeuvrability, a target for accuracy, a stopwatch for speed; and the face of Big Ben representing London.
